This month the Stewards’ Message is a simple one, “Enjoy the Outdoors and Join in Fellowship.”
So, here are a few ideas of what you could do to get outside:
- Take a walk, around a park or just around your neighbourhood;
- Go for a hike. There are many published trails of varying length and difficulty throughout Nova Scotia.
- Go for a run. Throughout the summer there are marathon’s, half-marathons, 10 km or 5 km runs that you could join in.
Or for something more relaxing you could go:
- play some ball,
- have a picnic,
- go lawn bowling or
- simply grab your suntan lotion and head for the beach!
You know, it really doesn’t matter WHAT YOU DO just GET OUT THERE and DO SOMETHING!! We all know that Nova Scotia summers can be short, so enjoy the weather and the scenery while you can!
Also, make time for family, friends and members of your community. Relationships are very important and sometimes we need to make an effort to build or strengthen these bonds. Sharing good times and bad with others is important and healthy. So, include others in your outdoor plans.
Doing things in groups and sharing experiences is almost always better than doing things on your own. Perhaps you could go on vacation, or make a short day trip to visit a friend or relative that you haven’t seen in a while.
And while you are enjoying the outdoors and the fellowship, pause.
Pause to appreciate the beauty of the world that GOD has created for all of us.
And take joy in the people that God has put in your life.
And remember to GIVE THANKS.
