VIRTUAL CHURCH!!! Register atwww.portwallisunitedchurch.ca/virtual
Please invite your neighbours. Later watch Worship on our Facebook page and on YouTube.
As we gather for worship, please join us in lighting a candle every Sunday symbolizing the Light of Christ in our midst.
Communion will be celebrated on May 31st – The Feast of Pentecost – when the Holy Spirit was made manifest among the disciples. Please have bread and wine ready for the Sacrament.
One June 7th we will celebrate the 95th Anniversary of the United Church of Canada. At that time, Christians from many different traditions and denominations believed that our common unity in Christ was stronger than European divisions. We came together with the best of our heritages and formed a place where all Christians could find a home. It was the first cross-denominational union of Christians in history and since then we have been an inspiration to others to overcome human suspicions and fears and follow Christ.
“United Churches for Dartmouth” hosts a daily devotion at 10:00 AM.
Join us through FaceBook. There is a “Kids’ Corner” where we have a Children’s Time and story. https://www.facebook.com/groups/UnitedChurchesforDartmouth

PRAYER CIRCLE IN OUR CONGREGATION
If you want to add someone to our prayer circle, please let us know at the office (902-435-3644). As well, if someone is in the hospital, please let us know. In your prayers, remember Reta, Mary, Blaine, Joan, Johnny, Gwen, John, Daryl, Kay, Woody, Barbe, Harry, Lorrie, Peggy and Vern, members of the RCMP, members of Canadian Armed Forces and the families of those who lost loved ones. Please remember the family of the little boy from Truro.
Let us remember those who are working in Nursing Homes, Hospitals, grocery stores, those who are driving busses, delivery trucks, taxis, and those picking up garbage. Remember those who are maintaining the infrastructure of our province. Remember those who are without work, over worked or fearful for their future.
Music Department (from Adam)
If virtual choir was not for you, I invite you to take part in this virtual band. The piece is “Come O Holy Spirit” from More Voices.
How does a virtual band work? Much more flexibly than a virtual choir!
I invite you to play trumpets, flutes, recorders, keyboards, violins, clarinets – heck, spoons, if that’s all you’ve got. You can record the melody, play chords, play the bass line – I’ve also written out a possible alto part (harmony part), derived from the original, but much easier to see. Play however many parts as you’d like, and send them to me, and I’ll adjust the final product accordingly. Just as with the virtual choir, doubling up on recordings will help with the richness of the sound.
Please forward this info to anybody you think would be interested. Contact Adam for further information through the church email.
We offer a heartfelt thank you for the work that is done by the volunteers at Port Wallis! Hopefully we will be able to be together in July for a delicious strawberry shortcake in recognition of our volunteers!!

Breaking the Silence,(BTS) is a Justice, Mission and Outreach Committee partner,
For several years, in early May, many of you have ordered cases of Breaking the Silence coffee at the wholesale price for pick-up at Annual Meetings.
Although that cannot happen right now, you can still purchase Breaking the Silence coffee for your church and for personal use. You have several options: Purchase it at the Just Us! coffee display at Sobey’s, Foodland, and participating Coop Stores; Purchase it from Just Us! (justuscoffee.com/ ) with free shipping for retail orders over $50 and wholesale orders over $200 (churches can become wholesale customers); In the Halifax area, order with free delivery from Susanne Litke https://bts390790953.wordpress.com/
Why buy Breaking the Silence coffee? The Maritimes-Guatemala Breaking the Silence Solidarity Network (BTS) has been a long-term partner of the Church in Action Committee, now the Justice, Mission and Outreach Committees. BTS partners with the CCDA (the Highlands Committee of Small Farmers) ~ a collective of coffee farmers in Guatemala ~ and with Just Us! Fair Trade Coffee Roasters Co-op ~ to bring fair trade, organic coffee to the Maritimes. The proceeds of each bag of coffee purchased supports BTS human rights solidarity work.
The wandering minister…. I am taking my ‘almost daily’ walks through the area of Port Wallis. This gives me an opportunity to pray for you, sometimes see you, and at all times, allows me to give thanks for all the people of Port Wallis area.
Wednesday from 12:00-2:00 Paul will be in front of the Church to receive gifts for the Food Bank. This week’s special is Delmonte canned veggies $0.88 each at Giant Tiger. We need about 40 cans.
Remember WASH YOUR HANDS OFTEN, eat healthily, and call a friend to renew God’s Gift to you in them.
God is with us. We are not alone.
