VALENTINE’s DAY CARDS OF CARE
We are launching our cards of care program for Valentine’s this year. You can brighten someone’s day and offer them some much needed cheer, love and a little smile too!
Here’s how to participate:
- Write up a Valentine’s Day (and you can do more than one if you like!) with some words of hope, love and care. You do not need to put a “To: Name” in the cards, simply say Happy Valentine’s Day.
- You can sign these with your name(s) or simply from your Port Wallis United Church family.
- Please drop them off by February 6th to the church. Add a note that they are for the Cards for Care project.
- We will put a name on the envelope and mail them to members of our community who are in need of those kind words to give them a sign of hope and love that they are not alone.
- You can put a stamp on the envelope if you wish or leave them blank.
Thank you for your help and support of others during these challenging times we live in.
NEW EDUCATION PROJECT and COMMUNITY!
Ivan has started a special group on Facebook to share some educational resources for people interested in learning and exploring more on a variety of topics.
Feel free to join the group – www.facebook.com/groups/pwucgroup/
Click the link to join, hit the “Request to Join” button, answer the questions and then we will add you to the group.
PASTORAL CARE
Please help us keep the lines of communication open. We would appreciate calls (902-435-3644) or emails (port.wallis.uc@ns.sympatico.ca) to the office with information about the joys and crises of our people; so that we can respond. The Church’s answering machine is checked on a regular basis.
PRAYER CIRCLE IN OUR CONGREGATION
If you want to add someone to our prayer circle, please let us know at the office (902-435-3644). As well, if someone is in the hospital, please let us know. In your prayers, remember Reta, Mary, Joan, Ross, Johnny, John, Daryl, Pat, Kaye, Woody, Dexter, Georgie, Pat, Barb, Dana, Ann, Jill, Janet, Marion, Dawn, Andre and Don.
PRAYER TIME
The Congregation is reminded that at 10:00 AM every day we are asked to remember each other in a Period of Prayer. This will keep us in spiritual Communion.
