- CALL TO WORSHIP & LIGHTING the CHRIST CANDLE
Christ is risen! Hallelujah!
Christ is risen indeed. Hallelujah!
Lord Jesus Christ,
You are the Source of all Life and Immortality,
Eternal Light born of the Eternal Light.
You are the Light of God’s Presence,
You are the Light of the Heavenly Hosts
and You are the Light of every man and woman
who comes into this World.
Through Your Resurrection,
You bestow new Life on all People.
Through your Resurrection,
You bring the Light of God’s Presence to humanity. Through your Resurrection,
You proclaim the triumph of Love.
We light now this candle,
Remembering that You, Lord Jesus Christ,
are the Light of the World,
the Light that shines in the darkness,
the Light that the darkness cannot overcome.
We celebrate your resurrection.
You are the Light of the World. Hallelujah!
- INTROIT (tune: Festal Song # 79 in Voices United)
Arise our light has come! The Spirit’s call obey
Show forth the glory of our God which shines on us today!
Arise our light has come! Fling wide the prison’s door
Proclaim the captive’s liberty, good tidings for the poor.
- PRAYER OF APPROACH AND THE LORD’S PRAYER
Lord Jesus Christ, You are the Alpha and the Omega,
the source from whom we come
and the receiver of us in the end.
Reach out your hand that we may hold You and be at peace.
Breathe on us that we may receive the Holy Spirit.
Come into our midst and surprise us with your peace.
Through You, we pray to the Father
in the power of the Holy Spirit
who taught us to pray, saying,
OUR FATHER….. NOTRE PERE…. AR N-ATHAIR…
ONZE VADER …VATER UNSER… PADRE NEUSTRO
- HYMN # 164 ( VU) THE DAY OF RESURRECTION *
- INDUCTION OF NEW ELDERS
By our Baptism we are called into Ministry which takes many forms according to our ability, spirituality and available time. One of these forms is an Elder – someone who serves with the Minister in the spiritual oversight of a congregation. This morning we install 6 new Elders who will serve for 5 years with the other Elders in a group called the Session. You most often see the Elders at Communion when they spiritually serve the congregation the Sacrament. We meet monthly to care for our people.
- LEARNING TIME
In peace, dear God, I come to You through Jesus Christ who makes me new
And while I run or play or rest, be with those whom I love best,
Guide me in your Holy Way, as You walk with me each day, AMEN.
