- CALL TO WORSHIP *
Far beyond the limits of our imagination,
Lies the vast richness of all that God is.
Far beyond the limits of our expectations,
God seeks to enter into our existence.
Far beyond the limits of what we would want
God seeks now to enter our souls.
God is constantly seeking incarnation.
God seeks to dwell in each of us.
O come, let us prepare to meet our God.
Let us worship God.
- INTROIT (# 37 VU – done in a round) *
Gloria, gloria, in excelsis Deo!
Gloria, gloria, alleluia, alleluia!
- PRAYER OF APPROACH and the LORD’S PRAYER *
God of the Angels and Archangels
and all the company of the redeemed on earth and in heaven,
God of the Shepherds and sinners and saints,
God of the lonely, God of the lost and God of the languishing. God of humanity – the happy, the holy, the humble and the haughty, we turn to You in wonder, love and praise. Jab us with joy until we regain our childhood excitement and marvel at the miracle of your continued presence among us, through Jesus Christ our Lord, AMEN.
- LIGHTING OF THE THIRD ADVENT CANDLE – JOY
LIGHTING the CANDLE of JOY
We light the candle of Joy,
and remember the Spark within us
that dances with the Holy Spirit,
filled with creativity and wonder,
inspiring our souls with joy eternal
and casting away all gloom
with the promise of the Messiah.
- CANDLE HYMN
Light one candle for hope, one bright candle for hope,
He brings hope to every heart, He comes! He comes!
Light one candle for peace, one bright candle for peace,
He brings peace to every heart, He comes! He comes!
Light one candle for joy, one bright candle for joy,
Every nation will find salvation in Bethl’em’s baby boy.
Light one candle for hope, one bright candle for peace,
He brings joy to every heart, He comes! He comes!
He brings love to every heart, He comes! He comes!
- PRAYER OF CONFESSION
Eternal God, filled with understanding and comprehension,
Come and quiet our souls. Lift from us any burden we brought, any weight of worry and any panic that presses the breath of life out of us. Set us free from our expectations that we may become excited at your incarnation. Pardon all that prevents us from a perfect relationship with You, through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.
- SILENT CONFESSION AND ASSURANCE OF PARDON
- LEARNING TIME
In peace, dear God, I come to You through Jesus Christ who makes me new
And while I run or play or rest, be with those whom I love best,
Guide me in your Holy Way, as You walk with me each day, AMEN.

- SACRAMENT OF COMMUNION
God is with you
And also with you.
Lift up your hearts to God.
We will lift them up to the LORD.
Let us give thanks to the LORD our God.
It is right to give God thanks and praise!
It is indeed right at all times and in all places
to give God thanks and praise……
Therefore, with the Angels and the Archangels
and all the company of the redeemed on earth and in heaven, we join our voices to sing this song of praise.
All glory be to God on High and to the earth be peace,
Good will henceforth for ever more begin and never cease!
We remember with joy the grace by which you created all things….
Grant that in praise and thanksgiving,
we may be a living sacrifice,
holy and acceptable in your sight,
that our lives may proclaim the mystery of faith,
Amid the darkness in this world
our Lord and Saviour comes,
Our God in human flesh appears
and all the world becomes
A holy place where everyone
is welcomed in and there are none
Outside of God’s embrace or of God’s love
– in excelsis Gloria!
With all God’s Church we now proclaim
that Christ has come to earth,
incarnate in our human flesh,
at Bethlehem his birth,
through Jesus, Christ of God appears,
defying death and facing fears,
Jesus died, Christ still lives, and comes again
– in excelsis Gloria!
Loving God, pour out your Holy Spirit upon us….
Remember your Church…..
Remember the saints who have gone before us…..
In Communion with them and all creation,
we worship and glorify You always,
Through the One in whom your Christ dwells,
with the One who conceived the plan of the Incarnation,
and in the Mystery of the One who is unfathomable,
all Glory and honour is Yours, God All-Imaginative,
now and forever.
As Jesus taught us, let us boldly pray,
OUR FATHER….. NOTRE PERE…. AR N-ATHAIR…
ONZE VADER …VATER UNSER… PADRE NEUSTRO
SHARING OF THE SACRAMENT
Christ is the Host of this Sacrament
and all are welcome to share in it. Receive the bread and hold it as Christ has received you this day and holds you. Together we will consume it in memory that Christ willingly shares all our anxiousness and anguish. Receive the cup of non-alcoholic grape juice that Christ pours out for you and hold it. Then hear his words, ‘This is a cup of a new beginning…’. Then together let us drink the cup offered by Christ and start life again with Christ at our side.
