SUMMER BULLETIN
Port Wallis United Church is an open Congregation that affirms you as a child of God, made in God’s Image, and loved by God.
Season of Pentecost July and August 2023
Prayer before Worship
Ever present God, pour out your Spirit upon this Worship. May the faithful find nurture, the careless – awakening; the doubting – courage; the anxious – calm; the tempted – help; the sorrowful – comfort; the weary – rest; and the strong – renewal. This we ask through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF THE LAND
CALL TO WORSHIP
Come angel and come visitor, come now and be our guest,
Come Jesus from your dwelling place, stay here & take your rest.
Surround these walls with faith and love,
that through the nights and days,
When human tongues, from speaking cease,
These walls may echo praise.
Amen! Let us worship God!
INTROIT (Tune: Nicaea # 315)
Holy, Holy, Holy, LORD, God Almighty
All thy works shall praise thy Name, in earth and sky and sea!
Holy, Holy, Holy, merciful and mighty;
God in Three Persons, blessed Trinity.
PRAYER OF APPROACH and the LORD’S PRAYER
Eternal God, by the actions of the Holy Spirit, join us now with all your people on earth and in heaven. May we dwell in perfect union with all the company of the redeemed who glorify You around the world this day. Pour into our spirits all that we need to accomplish your Will. Into your hands we yield ourselves for your Glory, through Jesus Christ our Lord, who taught us to pray before You saying, OUR FATHER… NOTRE PERE… AR N’ATHAIR…

AFFIRMATION OF FAITH
(En français à la page 919 / Tagalog 927 / Chinese 926 / Korean 924 / Japanese 923 )
We are not alone. We live in God’s World.
We believe in God: who has created and is creating.
Who has come in Jesus, the Word made flesh,
to reconcile and make new,
Who works in us and others by the Spirit.
We trust in God.
We are called to be the Church:
To celebrate God’s Presence,
To live with respect in creation,
To love and serve others,
To seek justice and resist evil,
To proclaim Jesus, crucified and risen, our judge and our hope.
In life, in death, in life beyond death, God is with us.
We are not alone. Thanks be to God. Amen.
LEARNING TIME and PRAYER
In peace, dear God, I come to You through Jesus Christ who makes me new,
And while I run or play or rest, be with those whom I love best,
Guide me in your Holy Way as You walk with me each day. AMEN.

ANNOUNCEMENTS for the Gathered Community
The United Church of Canada shares a rich Christian heritage. The Presbyterians, Methodists, Congregationalists and the Council of Union Churches joined together in 1925 with a vision of joint Christian witness in the country. In 1968 the Evangelical United Brethren joined. Over the years, Christians of all backgrounds have found a home within this Church and have added their rich Christian heritage to the development of a United Church.
Thank you for worshipping with us this morning. The richness of your spirit has blessed us. If we can be of service to you, please ask.
